Bursting with energy, this vase of overflowing tulips was created on craft paper that was formerly a table covering for my studio. I love the random marks and drips under the painting that inform the final piece. The word Glitter was stuck to the paper as I was labeling my studio one day. The sticker was unusable after it accidentally stuck to the table. But I used that word as inspiration for the piece adding glitter to all the butterflies in the painting.
The painting is dry mounted and framed in a gorgeous antique frame gifted to me by a friend. The frame was completely rebuilt by my framer and is stunning! It has a few imperfections in character with its age, but I think it adds to the piece.
